How coin albums may lead to quality family time

If you are looking for something fun and cheap to do with your family, take some blank coin albums and gather around the kitchen table. Although the collection of the coin has been around for a long time, it still is a perfect game and learning experience for the younger members of your family. Plus the advent of the designated State quarters offers great opportunity for your children to learn more about the 50 States in the United States.

To begin, you must have enough coin albums, so that each child has a chance to build your own collection. (In a pinch, MOM and Dad can share with each other or work with more family members). The key is to make a game of search and identification of a particular State quarters from all 50 States.

There are several things you can do to improve this experience for your children. here are some examples:
The construction of some friendly competition in the search. Offer a small prize for members of the family, which finds all 50 coins first. (One way, you can increase your chances of finding them is offering to pay the indemnity in the premises). Prize offer must not be anything flashy, would do something as simple as letting the winner decide where to go to dinner (or what we have at home).
Packed a large wall map to visually shows how each in respect of the coin albums for filling. Indicate any child of his own color coded sticky pads, so that when he finds one quarter for a party, it may add one of its "sticky notes" in this State on the map.
Assign a task to go along with each coin. For example, there can be any child, find some tidbit of information for each Member State, such as capital, the State bird or flower or state motto. They can add their findings of their own sticky notes and share them with the whole family through the map on the wall.
If your pocket, you can plan trips of short day to attractions nearby, connected with their findings. Another idea would be like a little more in-depth studies of destination already plan to visit for upcoming family vacation.

Note, this project is especially attractive to younger children, because the process of search and succeeded quarters in their own coin albums gives them a sense of accomplishment. Plus, allows them to learn about us History and each of the 50 States, they build special memories with you and their descendants.

Finally, this project may open the door to talk to your children about money and the importance of being financially responsible. As your children begin to be added quarters of their albums coin, don't forget to talk to them about the value of the successive setting aside money for a rainy day. The game's writing is a great way to become a more pleasant experience for them. Who knows? This can result in a positive long term financial habits!

Network for commemorative Gold coin prices

2011 Commemorative Gold CoinsThe United States Mint 2011 commemorative gold coins

Prices for the United States Mint commemorative gold coins can be changed once a week, as well as coins are again available after close to two weeks to stop their sales thanks to a new pricing methodology for the network.

The United States Mint on Thursday, August 25, introduce a new network-based commemorative gold coins price guide, which put the coins back into the sale, on the basis of the current value of gold. Pricing grid works similar to the system introduced in 2009 for numismatic gold coins. If the average for the weekly gold moved sufficiently, the commemorative gold coins followed up or down $ 12.15 correction. Pricing network follows:

Commemorative coins of gold, the pricing gridAverage London fixed gold price (USD)

The United States Mint new describes the pricing methodology, in part, the basis of:

"Mainly of London determined weekly average (average of the London fix prices covering the previous Thursday morning determined by Wednesday morning, determined) gold prices reflect the cost of gold gold contained in those products."

The Court went on to say that:

"As required by law, the Commemorative coins to be sold at a price equal to the sum of the nominal value of the coins, the fee in respect of such coins, as well as the costs for the design and issuance of coins." and that the pricing grid allows changes of coins "as often as weekly so they better reflect the cost of gold" in them.

Commemorative coins shall be settled by legislative initiatives, which are passed in Congress and signed into law by the President. Typical years lead to at least two Commemorative Coins produced in silver. Not every necessary year gold such as 2011. Coins, affected by the new system for pricing network this year include:

Proof 2011 Medal of honour $ 5 commemorative gold CoinUncirculated 2011 Medal of honour $ 5 commemorative gold CoinProof 2011 u.s. Army $ 5 commemorative gold CoinUncirculated 2011 u.s. Army-$ 5 commemorative gold coin

As a result of the new system of the network, each of the coins increased in price from $ 79.35. The two evidence currently costs $ 534.30, while both uncirculated coins each cost $ 524.30. But again, their prices can change each week. While the Mint system indicates that adjustments of prices will enter into force at 10 a.m. ET on Thursday, immediately after the Bureau usually adjust prices if necessary before 12: 00 noon ET on Wednesdays.

More information on Commemorative coins at the Mint of the United States for this year and recent years is available on the sister site http://www.coinnews.net/commemorativecoins/, as well as the Mint web page at http://www.usmint.gov/mint_programs/?action=commemoratives.

Condemns cleaned coins?

Unfortunately not all coins sold are correctly marked so buyers must be in their fingers. One type of cleaning include what is referred to as "immersion". Immersion include dry cleaning with the result of simple beautiful coin, but with less Luster. Coins, improper passing usually leave a white film on the surface of the coin. One of the best tools I've found for this is to use avid facility. Bluish/white LED light on the loupes or magnifying glasses really brings out white film, for easier detection and makes for easy this claim to the seller, which most likely will reduce its asking price.

The next level of cleaning is much more stringent. Coins or tarnish this is dirt, but the actual silver or copper material when you remove or mollify tarnishing of the coin is removed the actual silver or copper. If tarnish or colour is light then the damage is minimal, but if your serious then the composition of the coin and design changes drastically. Look at this Australian large copper coin, I grabbed for the dollar only for this article. Was purchased at online auction and the picture is reduced so that the could not inspect the coin. Clues that this is a coin is cleaned of its color. Largest copper coins tonne very quickly to the brown or even chocolate part of dark brown colour as such bright copper color signal was that recent cleaning and since the coin is from 1919 was toning down my hunch is quite seriously before cleaning.
cleaned1.JPG cleaned3.JPG
After receipt of the coin there was no apparent brush marks on the surface of the coin, confirming suspicions cleaning. After scaling one of the areas of the symbol can be seen the real damage. Surface points with shelling, where the moved material, so that this coin was first chemically treated and then brushed. The other party is not better, it shows the characters of the same brush and downloads. To determine what this shoe is the coin was thrown in the scale. Most large coppers from this period is measured 9.3 to 9.5 grams, but after thorough cleansing, has dropped weight to 9.1 grams, remove anywhere from 2 to 4 grams of copper. So the question at hand is "this is good for collector"?

cleaned2.jpg-cleaned4.JPG

The answer is maybe. Material removed is not obvious without increase, but a huge volume of brush marks in the coins are quite dispersed. For me I just search for one example of George v design, and I believe that a little overdue and soothe may reduce the ugliness of brushed fields so that barely squeaks as acceptable figure, but I will annotate it as "highly clean".

Mexican gold coins-attractive pieces for your coin album

The economy of the United States is carried out financial stigalo. It is also declining American currency. Smart people are searching more options to protect the money obtained from hard work and patience.

Worldwide purchasing gold is one of the best ways to protect your assets. In fact, gold purchase is one of the most favourable and proven ways to protect your assets.

For experienced investors of gold ingots Mexican coins were among the top favorites. So are gold Krugerrands from South Africa. The main reason for many people buy Mexican gold coins is battle inflation and make up for the risks.

Mexico 50 Pesos gold was 20-for the first time. They are one of the breathtaking designs of gold coins on the ground. These coin a majestic art of function with an Angel with wings and known mountains in the background.

On the reverse of this coin shows the Eagle, which has a snake of the beak. The amount of these coins is at least 20% greater than the United States version of the gold Eagles. These coins contain 1.2057 Oz of solid gold. So they are much more media of gold in comparison to the legendary American $ 20 gold coins.

To purchase Mexican coins, you can visit the neighbouring gold traders. It may help also, if you visit local coin shops that sell gold coins in good transactions. However, most gold traders will try to mark a much higher profit on sales of gold 50 Pesos. Higher premium is justified, because they must cover their operating costs, together with the other costs.

If you want, you also can view and to buy Mexican coins online. Try and find online auction sites, as they were Centre for gold coins transactions over the past few years.

Lovely distractions

Like the other articles I focuses on the complete set or sets of coins and sometimes will fall under the influence of the impulse buy, which has nothing to do with any of my collections of current.

This is not an unusual practice as one may be tired of searching for this "properly" coin to add or complete series and purchase something different is temporary, but wonderful scattering. It was one of those "lovely distractions", where I discovered I discrimination against some coins.

When my eyes tended to Mary is always to large world (Crown size) silver dollar or United States key/semi-trailer-key coins and I will quickly skip past or scroll, as something between. Not sure how long I have been doing this, but I caught myself recently on e-Bay by pure accident during one of my lightning speed screen, manuscripts, accidentally I clicked list. What up is beautiful 1800 ' s Portugal 500 RACE silver coin, which I ended up buying a $ 14.

It is not a huge part of silver and is not even close to the definition of rare. Wondering what else I have version because it is not large and flashy really hit me between the eyes. Once you start to watch a wider field of a number of interesting designs shall be extended by 10 times. Move forward, I will not take any coin name, size or even composition provided at the time of the impulse buy.

Of course this can lead to a new series of became too distracted to complete the set, which is initially started, but with so many coins have their elaborate we would be foolish to do occasional impulse buy. Perhaps a good way to appear ideas for a new future set:)

Score for the little guy

20090601_0001.png

When it comes to "blue collar collector", mainly people who usually buy coins in $ 20 to $ 100 range, they sometimes forget in the world of high priced rarities and all of the talk, which is with him. But I must tip my hat to the editors at coin values!

In issue June 2009 related main article for coins for $ 100 or less than Al Doyle. I usually have my doubts when I read those articles, as they tend to dealer has stock for coins, which nobody wants indeed, is not the case here!

Although limited to only United States coins, the article did a fantastic job of visit and recognizing value in almost all large coin series, including the 19th century, questions of half cents, half dimes, trimes and 3 cents from nickel. From sleepers to fan Favorites had a little for everyone something.

The only area is missing that I will enjoy would be some recommendations on commemorative parts. Not me wrong, I still loved the article. And I'm sure smaller coin dealers in the nation, also cheered many of their customers are likely to fall in the $ 20 to $ 500 range costs and this article just helps the customer.

Anyone with a small budget, strongly recommend to get a copy from your local newsstand before next month, arrives at the problem, you will not regret:))

Time for annual checks

Many articles-dread the alternative that day and some never get to it! But it is necessary to make the annual inspection and inventory of coins. Do not believe me? Already found three coins, I forgot to remove the vinyl flip, that they were shipped in and they start to get the Green tint of PVC (softener for plastics) already begins to Leach on coins.

Still whining? Come on folks, its dead of winter! What you must do. Believe me, when I say its healthy for collection, your mind and soul! So without further hesitation Let's begin ...

saflips.jpg

Inspect those flips. They are hard and brittle? Cracking? Is flip the vinyl acetate-in any way? If you answered Yes to any of these questions, then its time to change this holder. If you are unlucky as me and there are some PVC Leach on the coin will have acetone bath. If you do not know how to make this simple. Buy pure acetone (Walmart has some in the beauty, but make sure it is 100% pure) and a gallon of distilled water. Your coins in acetone is for only for a few seconds and then rinse with distilled water. Quick dry coin (Pat and never rub) with a soft cotton cloth. Do not leave the coin air dry as water droplets will leave stains of the coin.

Well given time these paperboard. Torn is the mylar? Staple b?lbukvane? If you use self-sealing glue types have become otlepva? Coins begin to change color? If the answer is Yes, then change this holder!

pocketpage.jpg

Use coins pages? Pages can stretch overtime and must not be ignored. Inspect each coin from tugging any holder in each pocket. Does it slip easily? If so it is time to replace this page. How for seams of each Pocket? There are some torn?

Whats this? You say you use coin albums and this does not apply to you? How to fit, even getting to wear over time. Feeling all of the coins are continuously slipping from their slots, sliding behind leatherette cover? Split is the glue of leatherette paperboard? If you run into any of these problems then fix is a little stricter. You will need to contact the manufacturer or vendor to see whether the replacement pages. Most of this should be okay, but if they don't you will have to make difficult decision.

How about desiccants (like Silicon packages). If you use these is more than likely that he was thrown in and forgotten about. Bad news was already effective. But don't worry, check with the manufacturer of desiccant, since most can be redistributed by simply drying them dry in the oven. Note: do not do this unless the manufacturer gives YOU DIRECTIONS on how to do SO.

You think you have the most organized collection of coins around and very well may be true, but this does not mean you should not do once anyway.

The first is loose coins, we all have at least one placed on a desk or shelf expected for us to do something. Well? Do something!

The second is the neatness. Look at your options for storage, it is time to confront these albums? You may label these fields? How to smoothly stacking everything in that Safe?

With the help of coin software program, excel, database, or pen and paper? Up to date? Do I need to add another attribute to make a little easier to find? Some useful identifications, I have seen are where your coins are stored (field # 2, album # 1 page 4 bank safety deposit box, etc.). Other useful attribute is, if the coin is part of a set (20th century type fixed, Lincoln cents album, etc.)

So you've ordered and organized your coins, but still you like what you have? Collection of interests to change overtime and you might have a coin, which is already in and became a real pain, each time you make annual organizing. By this time, you really should ask yourself if you really want coin or are you simply coin hoarder (known as the Rat Pack)? You can try to sell those oddballs collection by trader or auction (such as e-Bay), but if you're not comfortable with this then why not try the trade? Many traders of coin the concerts are open to trade and there are many online communities, where colleagues coin collectors swap coins daily.

This is the insurance man! I pray this never happens to you, but coins may be stolen or damaged by a house fire, Tornado, or other natural disaster, which means you will have to deal with the insurance company. To help this process of collecting all of your receipts and paste them in a fireproof box, together with pictures of your coins. You have not flame-retardant field? How to scan and burn to a CD to a friend or relatives House? If you don't have a scanner then I recommend using a bank safety deposit box.
